Clients and beneficiaries

AVEC experts offer a diversified range of professional services to international development agencies, governmental and state-controlled organisations as well as non-governmental and private ones. The activities have to be carried out in co-operation with local partners, advising and assisting them as well as improving their ability.

AVEC strategy is focused on an integrated approach to promote sustainable development putting particular emphasis on micro-projects, involving and boosting local available resources and minimizing the external intervention. AVEC, besides, is strictly linked with institutional structures (University, Zooprophilactic Institutes..) research and training centres looking for a counterparts supporting and involvement.

AVEC, in Italy, would like to be considered as a referring point for the professional and refreshing training for the volunteers and expatriate personnel collaborating with other International Cooperation Operators. At the same time its members are involved in a continuous activity of awareness to the beneficiaries' problems.

Areas of intervention

Although its roots sink in the veterinary sector, AVEC identified four basic components of rural economies on which to concentrate the activities, utilising also the micro-finance tool:

• Livestock sector
• Agriculture sector
• Forestry
• Services (education, sanity, welfare)

The wager is to overtake the limits of a specialised sector, facing every problem with a holistic approach where all the described components harmonize preserving the environment and its social system.
