Twenty-five indigenous families trained in tilapia farming to fight malnutrition in the Mache-Chindul reserve.

An initiative promoted by AVEC-PVS in the communities of Molando, Tres Vías, Correntada, Mamey, Puerto Nuevo and Boca del Sucio, in Esmeraldas province, to tackle malnutrition among indigenous peoples. Because of hunting and fishing restrictions in the Mache-Chindul reserve, the project introduced family tilapia farming as an alternative source of protein and income.
